The Magnetic Fields - February 11, 2008 - Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton, MA

What we saw last night was historic, plain and simple. The Magnetic Fields play their first show in years in front of a tiny room with a 250-person capacity. Those in attendance received an incredibly rare and unique concert experience. The intimacy of the Iron Horse is unmatched by any other venue I've been to. The atmosphere is also quaint and cozy. On the recording, you can hear the scuffling of feet against the dry wooden floorboards as well the creaking of the attendee's rickety old wooden chairs. This is the ONLY way to see the Magnetic Fields live. My girlfriend Kim and friend Matt, and I were able to score a table in the absolute front row on the floor. We were so close that whispers between the band members could be heard by us. All of the combined charms of the band and venue left me speechless and aching for more.

Enjoy!
